ADULT CONFIRMATION

The Adult Confirmation Program is designed to bring adults to the Sacrament of Confirmation by letting them come to a deeper understanding of how the Holy Spirit works in their lives and in the life of our Church, and how they can interact with that Spirit to lead a life that will draw them into a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus.  

The Diocese of Fall River Education Department is sponsoring classes for Confirmation preparation for adults 18 years and older. Please contact the rectory for more information. The deadline for registration will be January 8, 2012.

            The requirements before registration are:

1. That a person must present a Baptismal certificate to Fr. Ed.

2. A sponsor certificate for the sponsor of the candidate must be presented to Fr. Ed.

3. Fr. Ed will fill out the registration form with the person interested in being confirmed.

4. Fr. Ed will give to the person interested in being confirmed the schedule of classes.

5. Information will be given to the person interested about the date of Confirmation which will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

If you would like to register for this formation program, you must show proper motivation to receive the sacrament (ie. Desire to be an active member of the Roman Catholic Church, not just to get married; You DO NOT need to be confirmed to be married by the church.)

We need a generation of FAITHFUL CATHOLICS, not just people going through the motions with an empty heart.

It is EXPECTED that the candidate is already showing evidence of WEEKLY MASS ATTENDANCE in our/their parish of St. Michael.
